Iron Connor!

Here is a quick Iron Man HUD (Heads Up Display if you're not a nerd like me) that I did for fun using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.  Mostly Illustrator though.  Took about 2 to 3 hours.  Below is a sample of my process.

Mochi Monster!

Here is a piece that I just worked on for my Mother-in-law.  It's going to be her birthday in a couple of weeks, and since she liked my Gizmo canvas that I did for my house so much I thought that it would be a good idea to give her one as a surprise gift.  It also just so happens that her dog, Mochi's birthday is the exact same day as hers so it's actually a gift to the both of them.

This piece took about 3-4 hours to paint using Photoshop and Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.
Here's my process.  About 3-4 hours.

Free Comic Book Day 2012 Sketches

Here are some of the free sketches that I did over at Maximum Comics for Free Comic Book Day.  I had so much fun as usual.  I wish that I could have stayed a bit longer though.  Maybe next time I'll get to do a full day.  Surprisingly I had a lot of requests for  Catwoman.  I would have bet money that everyone would have wanted some Avengers themed sketches.  Anyways, enjoy!

My Best Friend

Hey everyone it's been way too long since I've done a challenge, but I've been really busy lately.  I should really be on like day 10 or something maybe I'll catch up some day.  Luckily our group doesn't count the weekends so it gives me some time to catch up.

So the day 5 drawing is Best Friend and my best friend is my beautiful wife and mother of my child, Christabel.  It took about 3 hours or so.  Probably would have been less but Connor was being really fussy and wouldn't let me work.  Oh well enjoy.  Also for some reason Blogger is being really dumb and won't let me upload my usual animated GIF of my process so I'll just upload it later.

Painted in Photoshop about 3 hours

The Store

Day 4 of the Challenge and the topic is Favorite Place.  For me it's got to be "The Store", and if you don't know now you know!  This is a place of many great memories that I will never forget.

Done in Adobe Illustrator about an hour

BRAINSSSS!

Day 3 of the 30 Day Drawing Challenge is Favorite Food.  Anyone who truly knows me knows that if I ever go to a new restaurant, and they have chicken fried steak on the menu, I'm going to order it.  I don't care if I only came in to order a glass of water I have to get it.  Don't ask me why I just do.  Well since me drawing a piece of breaded, deep fried steak drenched in country gravy isn't very artistic or creative I decided to draw my favorite food if were part of the cast of "Walking Dead".  Enjoy!

Me in Zombie Mode.  Done in Photoshop.  About 2 hours.

Day 2 - Favorite Animal

Okay here's the 2nd sketch of the 30 day challenge.  Favorite Animal is the theme and even though my favorite animal is my dog Gizmo I decided to draw this bad boy instead.  I saw this rhinoceros looking thing when I went to NYC at the Natural History Museum.  I think he looks so cool and I love all the ridges and skin texture that he has so I decided to take a stab at it.  Enjoy!

Enter the 30 Day Challenge!

One of my good friends, Jon Ventura, recently just started a 30 day drawing challenge with a couple of his co-workers, and that really inspired me to get in on the action.  Every day there is a different topic/category that we have to draw.  I really hope that I can keep up with this thing.  If I miss a day I'll have to make it up by doing two drawings the next day.  I'm already a day behind but I hope to catch up by tomorrow.   So here is the first sketch of the 30 Day Challenge!  Good luck to me

Day 1 = Self Portrait

Our New Nursery!

In case you didn't know my wife and I are pregnant and are expecting our very first child any day now.  He's actually due March 3rd but I have a feeling that he'll come early.  Anyways, here's the nursery that I've been working on.  It's about 99% complete I just need one final decal right above his crib and then I am done.  The final decal will be of a giant action shot with all the characters including Mickey.

Our first instinct for the design of the room was to do just a Mickey Mouse inspired room based on the cool comforter set that we picked out.  But being a fan of comic books, and being inspired by the cute Toki Doki x Marvel characters, I decided to be unique and do a mash-up of the two.  And seeing that Disney now owns Marvel I thought it would be really cool to finally see this team-up happen for reals.  Enjoy!
